Initially infants are unable to consume and digest solid food. In infancy breast milk is the ideal infant food since it is always sterile and at body temperature. Breast milk contains more iron, Vitamin C and Vitamin A than cow’s milk. Breast milk is more easily digested than cow’s milk or formula, which means that breast fed babies have fewer allergies and stomach upsets than bottle -fed babies.
