Health Promotion

Health promotion is defined as a set of activities that promote people’s well-being and health. Health promotion seeks to meet health needs for the whole population including those with acute or chronic conditions. In addition, Health promotion also focuses on the development of strategies that encourage conditions that lead to a healthy population and enabling individuals to make healthy decisions.

There are efficient and improved healthcare services that promote coherent policies dedicated to support health promotion and collaboration between government, the society, private agencies and international organizations. Health Protection

Health protection is used to define efforts or activities that seek to preserve the individual’s current health status and avoidance of injury and disease occurrence. First, care providers should establish partnership with family members to promote family-centered communication and focus on health protection and health supervision visits.

Other concepts critical to this include time management by the nurses to ensure that health visits are used to achieve desired goals, identification of appropriate time when to pay health visit to the children and lastly nurses should seek to be advocates for child health concerns.
