Bio-Medical Model of Health: History, Overview and Analysis

Biomedical model of health are the scientific procedures medical practitioners follow to find out the sources of a particular illness for the treatment process to be active. Medical practitioners strictly focus on the biological reasoning when using the biomedical model to learn more about the disease. They believe that the alteration in the normal physiological functioning of the body causes diseases and if appropriate pharmacology treatment corrects the fault, an individual becomes well again. The model has been in use in healthcare provision services since the 19^th century by physicians to diagnose and treat illnesses. According to the model, health is defined as freedom from diseases and pain. Its primary aim is always to make the human condition normal and healthy.

The model instills an ideology in its users that every condition has a cure that is not just discovered yet. It motivates medical, scientific research which has led to discoveries of better medical practices in the years.
