Assessment 1 – Literature Review: Research Exercise (20%) Using the template provided on Blackboard. students need to submit to TurnItIn details of a peer•reviewed journal article specifically relevant to each week’s topic. The article should be no more than 5 years old.
The article must not appear in the course guide or course reserves anywhere (even in any of the Further Readings. Please check this before you submit if you do use one of them your exercise will be sent back). Students need to provide bibliographic details, article synopsis, and explain why the article is relevant. Do not cut and paste out of the article (or anywhere!) at all, write it all in your own words There are 110 tricks to the instructions: the first box you just need to summarise tie article you have found in your own wads (which shows me that you can understand and then explain complex sociological material).
The second box you just need to tell my why it is relevant by linking it to the course material on that topic (it aligns with a particular theory or concept or. it is in an empirical article that provides evidence for a theory/concept or against it. or. it is just about something from that topic, etc).
Each Exercise submitted will be assessed on a pass/fail basis. If the instructions are not followed, the exercise will not count. Essentially, each one is with 5% adding up to a total of 20%.
