RESPONSE:

  1. Discuss your individual motivators. Evaluate your motivator in light of the theories in Psychology.

Motivation is defined as “some kind of internal drive which pushes someone to do things in order to achieve something” (Harmer, 2001:51, cited in http://iteslj.org/Articles/Suslu-TeacherMotivation.html ). Motivation is thought to be responsible for “why people decide to do something, how long they are willing to sustain the activity and how hard they are going to pursue it” (Dörnyei, 2001, p.8, cited in http://iteslj.org/Articles/Suslu-TeacherMotivation.html).

? Safety Needs (i.e. living in a safe area, medical insurance, job security, financial reserves): Provide a safe working environment, retirement benefits, and job security.
? Social Needs (i.e. need for friends, need for belonging, need to give and receive love): Create a sense of community via team-based projects and social events.
? Esteem Needs (i.e., self-respect, achievement, attention, recognition, reputation): Recognize achievements to make employees feel appreciated …
