Kirschenbaum and Jourdan (2005) cite among the similarities of the person-centered approach as posited by Rogers is the focus on empathetic understanding of a concept “that involves, warmth, acceptance and positive regard” (p. 42), Rogerian concept of person-centeredness was based on some core conditions that included: (a) unconditional positive regard, (b) empathetic understanding, and (c) congruence.
