The five senses are as follows: audition, vestibular system, somatosenses, gestation, and olfaction.
The audition senses allows for a person to hear as well as pick up certain pitch, timbre, hertz, and loudness of a nearby object (Carlson, 2010). The sensation of the audition senses are generated by several elements. The various elements (or make up of the inner ear) of the ear allows a person to gather the key ingredients to make a distinction of sound. The receptive organ (known as the organ of Corti), tympanic membrane (the ear drum), and tectorial membrane of the auditory apparatus have certain jobs they perform in order to allow a person a particular sensation and perception of sound. These are just a few of the elements involved with the audition system. The perception of pitch, loudness, timbre, spatial location, music, and complex sounds are gathered from the within the ear canal and allows the brain to distinguish a particular sound (Carlson, 2010).
