Studies have been presented focused on a much debated subject as to the influence of the media on the psychosocial development of children and adolescents. Conners-Burrow, McKelvey, & Russell (2011) examined the relationship between preschool children’ social media habits and classroom outcomes. The media included television, videos and the movies. As they point out, in most families media viewing is an integral part of daily life. Recent studies show that younger children in the United States watch an average of 2 to 3 hours of television per day. According to Conners-Burrow et al. (2011), some studies have suggested a link between television watching and Attention deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD); however, he asserts that these studies have not been substantiated. On the other hand, “children’ inattention in the classroom has been reported by both parents and teachers” (p. 259).
